Lyric videos for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
First the plain answer: Lyriclip makes one 16:9 widescreen video and does not make a 9:16 vertical file. If you need vertical, here is what you can do.

Why a wide video does not simply fit
Reels and Shorts fill a vertical 9:16 screen. A wide video either sits small in the middle with empty space above and below, or gets cropped at the sides. Cropping cuts into the lettering, because the words are designed for the full width.
Your options
- Keep the whole wide frame in a vertical clip, with your song title above and space below. The words stay readable, though smaller.
- Film yourself singing and play the wide lyric video as a smaller panel. This works well for a short clip.
- Use a tool that makes vertical video for the short clips, and keep the lyric video for YouTube.
How most artists can use both
Put the full lyric video on your YouTube channel. Then use short vertical clips to send people to it, one strong line or the chorus at a time. A short clip tells people the song exists, and the full video lets them learn it.
What you get from Lyriclip
One 16:9 video of the full song, in 1080p, with no watermark, ready for YouTube. You can edit the file like any other video, in any editor you already use.
Questions
Does Lyriclip export 9:16?
No. The video you buy is one 16:9 widescreen file. Do not order expecting a vertical version.
Can I upload a 16:9 video to YouTube Shorts?
YouTube Shorts is built around vertical and square video, so check YouTube's current rules. A wide video is at home on your normal channel.
Can I use a part of the video in my clips?
Yes. It is your video, and you can cut a section of it in any editor.
